Ahhh, thank you so much :D!! I have to say, I’m pretty darn excited about our Starry costumes, too… >w<;; They’re my favorite outfits in the game by far, and it still seems pretty crazy to me that we’ve decided to tackle them! It’s an ambitious project, but I’m so lucky to be a part of a great group of really talented ladies; I’m learning so much from them as we spend time planning/working on these costumes together. I’ll pass along your words of encouragement to them too <3 <3!
So I did it <3!! Please go like if you’d like to follow my cosplay stuff on Facebook! I’ll be posting pictures, progress, and event info… kinda like I do here, except more organized…? >w<
Thanks for all the advice regarding cosplay facebook accounts too, guys ~ it really helped <3! I ended up making a fanpage… although we’ll just call it a “page” :p I think it’ll work out well because I don’t have to worry about random app requests or logging in/out issues, plus apparently tagging has been made easier for fanpages now, yay :D
Also, if you have a cosplay facebook I’m not aware of, please link it so I can like ya back <3!! YAY FRIENDS
… and make myself a cosplay facebook account. :x
Okay, so why now? Well for one, I think it’s past the era where people think you’re omg full of yourself if you make a cosplay facebook ~ I know that was the view for a while which is why I stayed away from it originally, but really… now it just seems practical. And I think a lot of cosplayers have realized that now and it’s more widely accepted. I really just want a place where I can post organized albums of my cosplay, progress pics, talk about events, etc, and Facebook would be perfect for that. I like tumblr, but it doesn’t really have the best archiving system, yknow..? ;;
Also, I can’t help but feel like I’m bugging a lot of the people on my personal facebook account when I post about cosplay crap… xD;; Extended family, coworkers, obligatory high school friends, etc. If I have a separate cosplay account I can spam all I want and those people have a choice as to whether or not they want to see it! On the other side of that spectrum, I have more and more people adding me on my personal facebook that I don’t know in real life; to just add someone I don’t know at to my personal account straight away… I dunno. But a cosplay account? Absolutely! :D I’ve met so many great people through cosplay online, I’d hate to close that channel off completely, which is what I’ve been doing. Having a cosplay account would allow me to meet new people through cosplay much easier <3!
So cosplayers!! Here’s where I’d appreciate your insight ~ :D
I know there’s a debate over which is easier to maintain, a profile page or a fan page … and I’m not really sure which I should do ;A;! As far as I know, the pros and cons are roughly…
Profile Page
Pro: Can be tagged in photos!
Con: Have to log in and out from other profiles, and I’ve heard some people get shut down for having a “fake account” or something..? D:
Fan Page
Pro: Can maintain from main FB account!
Con: Can’t be tagged in photos… and it’s called a fanpage. lol. I still can’t help thinking that’s a little pretentious, though I understand why people do it… xD;;
I’m leaning towards Profile Page, but I’m curious to hear about cosplayers that run their own FB pages think! Any pros/cons that I missed? What do you have, and which do you like better? Your advice is most appreciated, thanks!! <3
Thank you so much!! Miki is my favorite idol too (obviously… xD;;), she’s also my very favorite character to cosplay! It makes me so happy to hear people enjoy what I do ;w; ~ <3
